Room 11's PLAN

Room eleven have decided to clean up the bush and possibly create some signs. I really like the idea of cleaning up the bush because it will help the bush by not having as much pollution around the trees and native birds and animals. Cleaning up the bush will be alot of work but it will be worth it for the future generations to enjoy our lovely native bush.

Room 11's Bush Plan

Room 11 have decided to clean up the bush and maybe make some signs. I think that it is a very good idea to clean up the bush because there is so much rubbish in there that needs to disappear. If we were going to putnew signs in we would need to raise more money to pay for them and plan what we would put on them. Also we would need to plan where to put them and check with Mr Ritai to make sure that it is alright to go ahead with our plans. If you wanted to put signs in we would have to put them somewhere where people don't have to step on all the little plants to get to them and read them. Or we can make the signs and then later on when we have boardwalks place them in. Putting signs in is a good idea but if we want them to be next to the trees themselves we will have to put in walks which will costs more and we will have to raise more money.

Signs for our bush. - Wallwisher

We are thinking about designing signs for our Frankley Bush. Please use this wallwisher to make notes with your ideas. Families might like to let us know what signs they think would be useful in helping people understand our bush better. ( Or things in our bush)

My Easter Holiday.

For my easter holiday, my family and I went to the South Island because my dad needed to work there for a week. We stayed in a Motel in a place called Timaru. Timaru is about 2 hours away from Christchurch! On easter day my mum gave me and my little sister an easter egg hunt!! It was really fun. On the last day in the South Island, we went to Christchurch and saw LOTS of destroyed buildings. Can you believe that the whole city center was closed? My holiday was really fun! (especialy not going to school for a whole week!)

Te Rangatahi - Our Song

English Translation

Young people
Shine out in this world
This changing world
It is night, it is day, dawn is coming.

Listen to the cry of the bellbird,
 It's a new day
(Repeat 1st 6 lines)
Listen to the cry of the young people,
It's a new time.

 People,
Sing out your dreams,
Stand as one people.

05.04.12 - Managing Self
Aimee it is great to see you taking your goal seriously. I was so pleased to read your post on your blog. I look forward to reading a lot more over the holidays.

05.04.12 - Sam
Using language,symbols and texts
Sam, I really thought your pictures you drew for your camp poem were great and portrayed the fun we had on camp. Thanks for your efforts with this.

05.04.12 Grace – Managing Self
Grace your ‘can do’ attitude is wonderful to see, your positive approach to all we do is outstanding. You focus in class and strive to be accurate – I see you setting little goals where you push yourself to do more or do better!! Well done

Our Mt Taranaki Adventure

On the 3rd of April,
Room 11 went on a tramp on our mountain.
The highlights were that we went to a hut, but the
toilets were very disgusting.

We got to walk on the swing bridge, but it didn't swing that much!
There was alot of steps to walk up.
We got to go over rocks.

Overall I rated the trip a 10!
I would love too do it again!

the tricky tramp

I was ready to start our tramp. I stepped into the the windy bush all the mini trees surrounded us.
The narrow path was looking narrower with every step we took the cliff was millions of meters down and I didn't want to fall. All of the trees were blowing in the wind and look like they touched the clouds. I felt like I could reach out and touch them I was climbing mount Everest I look down feeling like I was gonna fall. The wind stopped, we entered the taller stronger and mosser trees the clouds came closer. I thought it was going to rain BUT IT DIDN'T. It was time to eat we stopped rested awhile, I thought the climbing was over but it wasn't there was more to come. We kept climbing up and down and up and down that wasn't to bad.
UNTIL!!!!! THE SWING BRIDGE
the part I had been waiting for i got on and was ready, I looked down it was a long way down but I didn't care I bounced along the [strong] bridge. After the bridge it was up again the stairs just kept on climbing, then we reached the end and when i stepped out of the bush I wanted to do it all over again

Janelle's tramping adventure

Yesterday room 11 went on a walk to the Wainogora swing bridge.
I liked it when I bounced on the bridge an when I looked down on to the river.
I also liked the hills and rocks.I ate a yummy lunch and drink to give me energy.
I heard lots of birds and they were cool. I crossed two rivers.

waingongoro tramp

While we were walking we saw a hut down below us. When we were up the top the trees were not very tall, they were just higher than mrs mca. It was fun, exciting & tiring but I enjoyed it.

Katy's review of the Waingongoro tramp :)

All the trees seemed shorter, but still as ancient as the Egyptians. A Tom-Tit flew over our heads. There was HEAPS of steps. Finally, we reached the Waingongoro Hut. We had lunch and went to the toilet (it was a long-drop). Then we started off again. It was much harder because we had to go uphill. A bit later, we got to the swing-bridge. It took a long time to cross because only one person could go at a time. When I went, I looked down. It was VERY high. But it wasn't that scary. After the swing bridge, we continued. I started dreading going downhill because that meant there was sure to be some uphill steps coming up afterwards. After what seemed like a LIFETIME, we got to the car park and drove home.
In Conclusion, it was a tiring, fun, adventurous tramp. :)

tramp

Room 11 tramp 2012. The tramp was a 3 hour walk. We saw the tallest swing bridge in Taranaki. The thing I liked most of all was the cabin on the walk. It had 2 rooms - 10 beds in each room-5 on top,5 on the bottom.

Room 11's Terrific Mountain Adventure

Yesterday Room 11 went up onto the mountain and did a
very tiring tramp (not really).
We went up down and all around the monster mountain.

We went and visited the Waingororo Hut and crossed
the swing bridge. We got to cross many small bridges,
then we came across the big beauty!

The tramp was very fun and I hope to do it again and maybe
even go all the way up to the summit! (That would be amazing!)

The experience was also very fun, because my cousin from Canada
got to do it ith me!

Overall I rate the tramp a 10 out of 10!

Tramp

yesterday room11 did the wanginoro tramp it was so awesome and fun and it was so tiring we went across the swing bridge it was so fun. over all i think it was a great tramp

Tramp

Yesterday room 11 did a tramp and it took around 3 hours. We wanted to stop every four minutes but we didn't because we stayed strong like stripes. Finally we got to the hut and we had a rest and then we headed off to the swing bridge. When we got to the swing bridge Mrs McAllister went acrose to test it out.Only one persom is allowed across at once. As soon as we got across we started heading to the mountain house.

wainongnora tramp up the mountain

yesterday we up the mountain for a tramp it took us 3 1/2 hours to walk through the whole tramp we went on the highest swing bridge in the whole of the national park we it was fun, interesting, tiring and long but i enjoyed it.
