My thoughts of the 1st week back!!!
My thoughts of the first week back were that this year was going to be great!!
We have already done so many fun things.
On the first day back we watched a movie called 'Racing Stripes' and ate popcorn!!
We were so lucky to do that.
We watched the movie because our class is focusing on resilience for the year and
the main character in the movie shows a lot of resilience.
We brainstormed all the words that described ‘Stripes’ the main character,
chose a word and got a piece of paper and sketched out our words.
Next we coloured the words in with pastel, when they were finished we cut them
out and put them on some black and white striped paper. After that we took some
photos. The finished art was displayed on the wall.
In the afternoon we carried on with the ‘Stripes’ theme and we got to choose what sort
of writing we wanted to do. We had a choice of writing a letter to Stripes,
Sandy, Tucker or the flies who are also other characters of the movie.
You could also choose out of a selection of poems and write one about on of
the characters in the movie.
We also made some very colorful names tags for our desks.
Then at the end of the week we made Chatter Boxes
(also known as fortune tellers) and next week we will be filling them up with zebra facts.

Crazy Room 11 Doing Some Chair Aerobics

Meg's Holiday Adventure
Hi I'm Meg I am 10 years old and a year 6 at Frankley School in Room 11
In the holidays I did alot of exciting things but the most exciting thing was going to a Girl Guiding Jamboree.
The Jamboree was held in Rotorua and was a great experience.
It was a 6 day jamboree and was held from 14th to the 20th of January 2012.
We went mountain biking, jet boating, we participated in doing drama, bollywood dancing and rakau stick games, we baked some yummy muffins in the outdoor cooking, we did pioneering and had an awesome open day!
At the open day parents were welcome to come and visit and all the girls went and did really fun activities!
A group of my friends and I did a really fun scavenger hunt,went pogo sticking,had huge ice-creams and enjoyed seeing our loved ones!!!
Also there were some international guides.
Girls came from all over the world like Australia, Malaysia, Fiji and China!!!
All together the jamboree was a great experience!!!
And I was so glad that I got to go!!!!
